Steven Campbell is a triple board certified physician with advanced training in hormonal therapy and functional medicine.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University majoring in physics with a minor in mathematics. Following university he took several years off traveling to the Philippines and Brazil working in schools and medical clinics. Next he went to the University of Kentucky Medical School, graduating with honors. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine along with a Fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at The Ohio State University,
He currently works for a large healthcare system in Northern Kentucky taking care of the most sick and complex patients in the intensive care unit while also seeing patients in the office setting primarily for unexplained fatigue and shortness of breath.
His passion for health optimization started through his own personal struggles with chronic nausea and fatigue partway through medical school. After seeing many physicians and even getting a surgery that was not necessary nor helpful he began to look for options beyond the traditional setting. This led him to a more functional approach which finally began to relieve his symptoms.
Then several years later he also began to have severe fatigue as a working physician and did not want to play outside with his children when he got home. Through research he discovered hormonal therapy and had tremendous results, soon he was treating his own patients with similar such approaches which inspired him to pursue further training. He is the founder of Campbell Foundational Health which was started to partner with patients in optimizing their health through a comprehensive approach. He is excited to bring this service to multiple states across the country. Dr. Campbell is currently married with four young children in Northern Kentucky. He enjoys vacations with his family, skiing, lifting weights, playing basketball, and walks in the morning with his dog.
